Dean was born and raised in Clarkston, Michigan. He attended Arizona State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. Working for fortune 500 companies he spent 10 years as a systems engineer. During this time he accepted a position that landed him in Colorado and he found his new home. Deciding to make a career change he attended Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado and received a Master of Science in Acupuncture. Dean is also a certified Reiki Master, a certified Yoga instructor and has studied martial arts for over 20 years. In 2017, He relocated to Charlottesville, VA to be closer to family and bring the art of his medicine to the east coast.
Dean uses his problem solving skills as an engineer and his love for eastern philosophies to provide a comprehensive system of natural healthcare. Using techniques from Japan and China combined with clinical research from Europe and the U.S., Dean blends the best from both east and west to give patients a truly unique healing experience.

Nationally Certified - State Licensed Acupuncturist
A four year Masters program is required to be nationally certified and to acquire a state license to practice Oriental Medicine. The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) governs the national standards for practitioners of Oriental medicine. These rigorous requirements include 1000's of hours of classroom studies and 1000's of hours of hands-on clinical experience.
